Boston, MA. January 13, 2023. Canvas Envision has closed a $9 million Series A-1 funding round led by eCoast Angels and Mendoza Ventures. The investment positions the company to scale its visual execution platform, which connects frontline manufacturing teams to live engineering data through interactive, model-based work instructions.

The round also strengthens the board with deep manufacturing and PLM expertise. Peter Schroer, founder of cloud PLM provider Aras, joins as chair of the board.

"Canvas Envision delivers a set of capabilities for which there is clear market demand," said Peter Schroer, incoming chair of the board. "For many manufacturers, critical work instructions, MRO manuals, and training materials are still created and delivered in ways that are inefficient and disconnected from engineering. I look forward to helping the company realize its potential."

Envision is used by manufacturers across aerospace, defense, and logistics, including autonomous logistics provider Zipline, to build interactive instructional experiences that combine 2D illustration, 3D model animation, video, and live product data. The platform is available in hosted and self-hosted deployments, with integrations into PLM, MES, and other systems of record.
